ARE PATIENTS PROVIDED?
If you choose the Provided Patients Option, patients are provided for you on a Clinical Training Week. You will treat a variety of live cases under supervision over 5 days. We guarantee that you will place at least 10 implants during the Clinical Training Week.
WHAT ARE THE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?
You must be a GDC registered dentist if taking the Provided Patients option. You must also have proof of your Hepatitis B status, indemnity, a current CPR certificate and a DBS certificate. If you choose the Treat Own Patients option you must be qualified and registered as a dentist in your country of practice.
DOES THE PRACTICAL SKILLS WEEK INCLUDE ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD?
The Practical Skills Week includes lunch. Accommodation is not included. The venue in Cambridge, where this program is held (The Moller Centre), has 92 air conditioned en-suite rooms that are graded at 4*. Cambridge also has plenty of other hotels ranging from budget to luxury.
DOES THE COURSE MEET ANY SPECIFIC STANDARDS?
Yes, the course teaches the syllabus published by the Faculty of General Dental Practice (FGDP). This syllabus is the training standard required by the General Dental Council for the practice of dental implantology in the UK. The PGCert is also accredited by the regulated UK awarding body, EduQual, as a formal postgraduate qualification, allowing the letetrs PGCert (Dent Imp) after your name.
WHAT ARE THE COURSE'S AIMS & OBJECTIVES?
Our aim is to take dentists, with no previous implant experience being necessary, and provide a high level of training to enable these practitioners to safely and confidently provide straight forward implant treatment in their own practice, in compliance with GDC training requirements.
WHAT IS THE COST?
The Provided Patients option costs £6,950. The Treat Own Patients option costs £5,500. The course fees can be spread over 10 months with our Easy Payment Scheme. All fees are subject to VAT.
I ALREADY HAVE SOME EXPERIENCE IN DENTAL IMPLANTOLOGY. IS THIS COURSE SUITABLE FOR ME?
This course is mainly aimed at dentists with little or no previous experience of dental implantology. However, if you are an experienced implant dentist and wish to gain a formal qualification you may apply for APEL exemption from the need to have a Local Mentor.
CAN I SPREAD MY COURSE FEES, RATHER THAN HAVE TO PAY IN ONE GO?
Yes. If you have a UK bank account you can pay the course fee interest free over 10 months (September-June) with our Easy Payment Scheme. Otherwise the course fee can be paid in 3 instalments (September, January and May)
CAN I USE LETTERS AFTER MY NAME?
Yes. The award is formally accredited by EduQual as a Level 7 postgraduate qualification, aligned with the Ofsted Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF). You would be entitled to use the letters PGCert (Dent Imp) after your name upon successful completion of the program.
